The Muffin Family collection of tables and stools by Spanish studio Stone Designs for Japanese company +d merges wood and felt to create an inviting – and scrumptious – seating solution for any room in the house: from the kitchen to the sitting room to the playroom.

Inspired by Scandinavian design, the pieces are clean and contemporary.

The primary objective in the design of the stools and tables was nothing more than to create a small seating area to enjoy simple pleasures, such as sipping coffee with good friends.

And, let’s be honest, perhaps eating a warm muffin or two.

A unique merging of influences, +d is a Japanese company with a high sensitivity in everything they do, while Spanish Stone Designs – which has offices in New York, Tokyo and Madrid, and was founded by Eva Prego and Cutu Mazuelos in 1995 – only takes on work with companies truly feel an affinity with.

Perhaps this unusual amalgamation of cultural design influences – from Spain to Scandinavia to Japan – is what makes this simple product so streamlined, yet inviting.
