The Lenovo Design and User Experience team – led by Yao Yingjia, Lenovo Vice President and Head of Design and User Experience – accepted the the Red Dot: Design Team of the Year award on stage at the Red Dot awards night at the Aalto Theatre in Essen, Germany, the home of the awards, in front of over 1200 guests.

Lenovo is the first design team of the year winner from China. The prestigious design award is an indication of Lenovo’s position in the international design and business world, as an innovator with a progressive and successful design focus.

Lenovo first competed in the Red Dot award: design awards in 2005, and won the top award for its Yoga concept. It continued to win further awards within the program, and in the last two years, Lenovo has won 15 red dot awards.

The company’s rapid growth and equally rapid design success is attributed to its focus on delivering quality products that are simple and easy to use and that match today’s lifestyle. “This historic award means a lot to our Design and User Experience team, as it recognises our consistent, innovative and quality design achievements in the past few years,” said Yao Yingjia.

“Lenovo is committed to becoming a global leader in the PC Plus era, the era of tablets, smartphones, smart televisions and personal computers. To achieve this objective, Lenovo’s Design and User Experience Team will continue to apply our seasoned PC experience, entrepreneurial far-sightedness and excellent innovation design to give our customers products that are reliable, functional, high performing, easy-to-use and, of course, pleasing to the eye,” he says.

“The award is a great encouragement and inspiration for us to go further and spare no effort to be part of, or even take the lead in, the global design development and customer experience trends.”
