The look into the future of Ferrari includes twenty models in shining red, black and silver from finalists who will now work with Ferrari designer Pininfarina.

The Ferrari prototypes are at a scale of 1:4 and have been described by judges as innovative and practical. These prototypes will go on an international touring exhibition after Germany.

Called, Ferrari: New Concepts of the Myth the exhibition brings a range of new Ferrari types from tomorrow’s automobile designers.

Besides constructing a model of the design, the conditions of the competition included creating a design fulfilling specific demands. The designs had to be innovative, creative and fresh on the one hand, while also taking into account aspects of practical realisation.

The dimensions of the latest V8 mid engine and V12 front engine sports cars served as a basis for proportions and measurements for students.

More than one hundred students of the Instituto Europeo di Design, Turin, Coventry University – School of Art and Design, Coventry, Tokyo Communication Arts School, Tokyo, and the Centre of Creative Studies, Detroit, USA, took part in the competition.

The New Concepts of the Myth competition was organised by Ferrari together with their regular designer Pininfarina and was supported by the aluminium producer Alcoa, who supplies Ferrari.
